Milestone!

Saturday, May 30, 2009

Savannah can now go from her tummy to sitting completely upright! She did it first in her crib a couple nights ago. We watch her do it on the monitor. Then she just sits there and plays and talks to herself. Quite funny. Although now that is all she wants to do so her naps have been a bit less productive, but oh well. I am sure any day now we will be crawling:)

Home Tour- Nursery

Thursday, May 28, 2009

This weeks tour is nurseries! Well first of all thank God I got to have a girl!! As soon as I found out it was a girl, I knew immediately that I would be doing butterflies as my theme. I just love them and thought surely my daughter would too! I found cute bedding and gathered all the accessories!

While Charlie and I were out of town for a wedding my parents built a chair rail and painted for us! We were so grateful. My dad also put in a fan. A cute pink girlie one;)

I bought some shelves and painted them for her walls.
My sister found this sign while we were out shopping and it was just to perfect. The right colors and had a butterfly! It says "Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude."
We have since added matching white baskets with pink liners underneath her dresser that I got from Michaels.
This a really cute dollhouse. For now I have books and things in it. But later Savi can play with it as a true dollhouse.

Here is her precious crib. I got this wall art and put it up on her wall. It was actually pretty easy. I love how her room turned out and I secretly already know how I would do another girls room if God blesses me with another girl;)

Countdown!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, May 28, 2009

I feel I am close enough now to start a countdown till our family trip to Destin, Florida! We are 95 days away from our glorious trip to the beach. I am very excited. I haven't been to the beach since our honeymoon. My family and Charlie, Savi, and myself will be driving down there for Labor Day week/weekend. We rented a townhouse that looks very nice. Normally we stay that the Hilton in SanDestin but this year we went a different route. Needing space for Savi and the cost it was an amazing deal just to do a house. And the house is right next to the pool and a quick walk to the beach. I am excited to take Savi to the beach and let her play in the sand. She will be almost one and I think she will have a blast. I will be praying for sunny weather and a relaxing vacation!

Our screened in porch for the house!

Comfy living room for some good family game nights:)

Where my butt will be planted for a good portion of the trip! Or in the sand building sand castles with Savi:)

Memorial Day Weekend

Monday, May 25, 2009

What a great weekend. Not to boring and not to busy! Just right:) Saturday I ran a couple errands and then went to Heather's wedding. Savi did great! She was pretty quiet during the ceremony and then lasted a good portion of the reception before Charlie headed home with her. Sunday was a day of rest. I cleaned house and just hung out with Savannah. We worked on crawling:) She is so close! On Monday we took Savi to the pool for the very first time! She seemed to really like it. She splashed all over the place. We had a little float and she definitely loved being pulled around in that. Later we went over to my parents for mini hamburgers, potato salad, and baked beans. Yum! Charlie and I had a great family day. We ended it with some scrabble which he beat me in once again! We made a bet that whoever won got to lead the other in a 20 minute work out. Guess I will have to endure whatever he throws at me! Hope it was a great weekend for you! Warning....a ton of pictures below.........

Heather had the prettiest dress!

Crawling really makes her tired. She is so close. Grandma got her the cutest baby doll that crawls! Maybe she will be inspired!

Savi finishing out the day at grandma and grandpa's house!

Home Tour - Dining Room

Thursday, May 21, 2009

This week on Kelly's Home Tour we are seeing everyone's dining room! Our dining room is pretty neat and simple. It isn't huge so I don't want it to feel small or cluttered. We have a table that seats 6 but I have 2 more chairs. One day I will look for a bigger table since I have the chairs for it. In the corner is a curio cabinet. The top has a butterfly tea set and the bottom has some swarvorski crystal figurines, ballet figurines, and a blown glass butterfly from my parents trip to Europe. Right now the only thing on the wall is a large portrait from our wedding. When we take some professional family pics I am sure that will be added someday soon. Nothing crazy interesting, but it is our dining room. We have used it once or twice maybe so far. More use to come:)

Glitz and Glam

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Ok so don't laugh but I kinda started a little business called Glitz and Glam! Long story short I have a bakery that found my designs and has started advertising them. I completed my first order this week and shipped it off. I kinda like tedious work and when I was getting married I was looking for these for the top of my wedding cake. They were expensive so I figured out how to make them myself. They are of course great for wedding cakes but I can also do numbers. Which I think are awesome for birthday cakes. I am going to do a cute number 1 and put it on my daughters cake or cupcake! So if you know anyone that is getting married or having a birthday:) pass on my name!!! A single letter is $40 and a triple monogram is $85. Each number is $30. They can pick any color of crystals to decorate it in. I am working on my website but anyone can email me at glitzandglam2628@yahoo.com
My first order completed!

The letters I made for my wedding.

Random Updates

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Well my day off was pretty good, but had a slight bump. We got up and Charlie felt a little blah but not to bad. So off to Lowes we went. We bought everything we needed and headed home. I put Savi down for a nap while Charlie rested and ate some toast. He said he was feeling better so he went to mow while I started on the flower bed. After he finished he felt horrible and said he needed to go lay down. He proceeded to feel nauseous and never was able to come back outside. Poor thing! By then Savi had woken up and I was left with everything we had bought from Lowes spread out on the front lawn. I called up MIL and she rescued me for about 15 minutes while I cleaned up. She even brought Charlie's brother to help with the heavy stuff. THANK YOU BOTH VERY MUCH! Savi and I just hung out the rest of the day. Charlie started to feel better and was all better yesterday. Charlie was able to finish most of the yard stuff yesterday. It came out great. We did new flowers in the front and trimming and in the back some new landscaping. Crepe myrtles across the back and a couple new flower beds.

Does anyone see that line indention in my yard? That is my crazy dog! He takes the exact same path up the yard everyday and has created that! Don't know what to do with him sometimes:)

Savi is 8 1/2 months and I am loving her personality these days. She is such a good baby. Yesterday we started to get the sounds of mamamamama, so I am sure it is coming soon! We are trying to teach her to wave. She sort of did it yesterday. Could have been a fluke though so we will see! She has been taking her paci a lot more lately. She kinda grew out of it a long time ago and then all the sudden she likes to take naps with it. It is so sweet. And it makes naps/bed time super easy. She has 2 bottom teeth and is eating her puffs (those cheerio like things that dissolve). She is starting to take the sippy cup a little also. Savi is growing so fast! It is crazy to think about the fact that in 3 1/2 months I will be planning a 1 year old birthday party!!! I love her so much!

On a totally different note…Does anyone else have a husband that enjoys wearing swim shorts as regular shorts? Lol Charlie loves to do this. And I can't really figure out why. He has clean shorts and swim shorts don't seem overly comfy?? It doesn't really bother me, I just think it is kinda funny. Especially when he picks the neon orange/red ones. That is the best. Love you hon!

Remix

Sunday, May 17, 2009

So like I said below Naomi came and borrowed the guest bed. SO, I set up the day bed. For now I just made the comforter and stuff work even though it is the wrong size until I find something I like. It looks pretty good and we have tons of space in the closets and the guestroom;)
This weekend was semi relaxing. On Friday night I had my dance recital for the girls I teach. They all did amazing! Then Saturday I went to Missy's graduation BBQ (Charlie's brother's gf). It was a little rainy and Savi needing a nap so we didn't stay long. Later I went to work for a little bit. Not a very late night so that was good. Sunday I cleaned like a crazy woman. All the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, cleaning etc. got done. I took Monday off and Charlie and I plan to do yardwork. I wanted all the other stuff done so we could enjoy the day!
This is one of the groups that I teach. So cute:)

Home Tour - Guest Room

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Time for Kelly's Korner Home Tour. My guest room is more like my "butterfly room." I absolutely love butterflies, so I get it out of my system in this room:) I don't have it to decorated as much as I would like just because it is going to change a little bit over the next couple of years. We are about to let Naomi borrow the bed in the picture and bring out a daybed we have in storage. I need to figure out bedding and stuff. Then in a year or so when we get the bed back, it will go back into that room and the daybed will be for Savi when she is ready. But getting the daybed out of a closet in the house will really open up some space for us so that is nice.

This is all my furniture from my old bedroom. Brings back good memories and someday we will probably put it in Savi's bedroom when she is a big girl:)
Butterfly of many:)These are real butterflies framed and mounted. Don't worry they come from a farm that lets them live out there life naturally and then they mount them:) I love these, they are so cool and pretty to look at!
