Love you Charlie!

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

1) Did you have a traditional Proposal? Pretty much. We were laying down and Charlie asked me to get up and turn the lights on and help him look for his contact that he just lost. He "suddenly" found it and then brought the ring out that he had hidden in the other hand and asked me to marry him. I was super happy and surprised!

2) When was your wedding day? June 3, 2007

3) What day of the week was it? Sunday evening

4) Church/court/other? We had the ceremony at the same location as our reception. So a banquet room at the Marriott. It was nice that people didn't have to get in there car for another location.

5) What song played while the bride walked down the aisle? Pachelbel -Canon

6) How many in your wedding party? 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 2 ushers, 1 house party, and a ring bearer and flower girl.

7) How many guests were invited to your wedding? I can't remember, probably around 400ish I guess because we had 170 attend.

8) How long were you engaged? 8 months.

9) Who did you hire as your photographer/videographer? Doug Layton... Very good.

10) Did you have a DJ or a band? We had a string trio for the ceremony and a DJ for the reception.

11) Did your father walk you down the aisle? Definitely, every little girls dream:)

12) What color were the bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen vests? The bridesmaids dress' were a aqua/teal color. One of my favorites! The boys had black tuxedos and grey vests. Charlie was all black.

13) Who was your Maid Of Honor/Best Man? My sister was my maid of honor and Charlie's brother was the best man.

14) Did you have a bridal shower? Yes, it was perfect!

15) What type of limo did you get? Didn't need one. Ceremony and reception were in the same place and we spent the night at the hotel we had the reception at. But we did get one to go to the airport to catch our flight for the honeymoon. Just your average fun filled limo:)

16) Where did you go for your Bachelorette/Bachelor Party? I just had all the girls over for a pool party and the boys did bowling and boy stuff at an apartment.

17) The night before your wedding, did you sleep? Yeah, I think I slept just fine. I knew he was the one for me and I had no doubts!

18) What type of wedding gown/tux did you two wear? Charlie wore his black tuxedo and my dress was an ivory satin gown from Watters&Watters. It was very simple but at the bottom had a very light blue beaded edge. It was perfect for my colors!

19) Did you have a veil? Yep, it had little crystals on it. Not to little or to much, just right.

20) What was the funniest moment from your wedding? Nothing huge sticks out, but maybe Travis' (one of the groomsmen) speech.

21) How was the weather? Hot and sunny. Typical June weather, but Charlie and I are summer people!

22) Did your bridal party deck out the get away car? No, we didn't have one for the day of the wedding and then the limo was the next mode of transportation.

23) Where did you go on your Honeymoon? A cruise out of Miami.

24) What was your favorite part of your wedding day? Everything was so perfect. I definitely enjoyed our first dance. Knowing that we had made it to that point and we could spend the rest of our lives together was a pretty good feeling.

25) How long have you been married? Almost 2 years.

26) Rings? My main stone was my great great grandmothers (pretty sure right mom?) and then Charlie picked out a setting. We picked out a wedding band to match and his ring is pretty basic. A titanium band with an Latin inscription that means "Only you and no one else."
27) Did the bride change her name? Of course!

28) Any anniversary traditions? We ate our pieces of cake from the wedding on our first anniversary, I don't know what we will do this year.

29) Anything special about the day/time of year you were married? No not really.

30) Words of wisdom? Make sure you know the good and the bad because the good is what gets you through a bad day.

Most Dramatic.....

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Season of all! That is what Chris always says on the Bachlor/Bachlorette. But man do I love that show. I just know it is going to be Melissa! They showed a scene at the very beginning of the season that showed a girl with very dark hair getting proposed to. So it better be her! But what is with the privacy of the show comment from Chris?? I am dying to know what that means! Charlie hates the show. Watching the girls cry is really the only thing that bothers him. (Sorry hon, but it's the truth) But that is ok, that makes him sweet and sensitive, so I can deal with having to watch it alone. There was a time where he used to watch it with me and I loved it. But no more:( Needless to say I am really looking forward to next Monday!

Rice Cereal and Sweet Potatoes! Mmmmmm:)

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Well at about 4 months we started Savi on rice cereal. She did real well with it and has gotten better and better at learning how to swallow. Then at 5 months we got the ok from the pediatrician to start just vegetables. We did sweet potatoes on Valentine's Day for the first time and she gobbled them up. It is fun to feed her, and she seems to like it so far. Next week we will do carrots. But for now she can say her first real food was sweet potatoes! Here are some delightful pictures of it all over her:)

All Done:)

It's Monday, and my new site!

Monday, February 16, 2009

It's Monday again, a fresh start to the week. Brittany and I spent a wonderful Valentine's together, and had a great weekend. I really enjoyed being off this weekend (thanks Chelsea!), and loved spending time with my family. We went furniture shopping, and came home empty handed. Nothing on sale that we absolutely loved. But we had success at Babies R Us and got Savannah some new clothes! On Sunday we went and saw He's Just Not That Into You. I actually liked it for the most part. Very similar to Love Actually, so if you enjoyed that, you'll enjoy this one.

Brittany, I know you're probably reading this at work, so I just want to tell everyone how wonderful a wife and mommy you are, and I love you so very much!

I have a new site up and running. Khordaddy's Dad and Husband Survival Guide. You can see links in the about me area, and at the top of our blog as well. I have two new articles up, so go ahead and check them out!

Men and Household Chores
How to Give Up Caffeine

Today is also "Not Me!" Monday. This is a collection of blogs, or a blog carnival if you will, on the blog of MckMama. There are some very interesting blogs there! Today, I have NOT eaten lunch yet, and I have NOT gotten around to cleaning our bathrooms. I have, however, managed to do two loads of laundry thus far, work out, and do some dishes. Not a bad trade off, so I will take it. Anyways, the link below will take you straight to "Not Me!" Mondays.

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by
MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Saturday, February 14, 2009

We are having a great morning and I am actually able to get on the computer and post because Charlie is HOME! We have plans to go out and look at some furniture and paint. Nothing romantic, but we never get to do that stuff anymore. Ahh the joy of kids:)(totally worth it though) Charlie was very sweet and sent me flowers at work and got me some yummy candy. Perfect gifts. I gave him a willow tree figurine of "new dad" and Savi and I went and took Valentine's pictures that we had framed for daddy. I will post those later once I get them scanned in. I hope everyone has a great v-day!

So below is one handsome man if I do say so myself. I am so excited to spend the weekend with him for Valentine's Day! We don't get many weekends together and better yet it is Valentine's weekend. We don't really have any huge plans, but just to be together sounds good to me.

I don't know how in depth he wants me to go into this but he has been doing something consistently for about 5-6 weeks now and I am pretty proud of him. He has been perservering and the results are awesome. I am proud of ya hon!

Back in the groove...

Thursday, February 05, 2009

I am finally back in the groove of things. Being sick sucked! It really knocked me on my butt. I am so glad to be better. Nothing to new, just living the life with a almost 5 month old baby:) We went to dinner with Heather and Chris at Chilis. We haven't seen them in awhile so that was fun. Savannah is doing great. She is eating her rice cereal everyday better and better. Soon we get to move to vegetables. I am excited for valentine's day because Charlie will be off. We can spend a great Saturday together! Here is Savi 1 week shy of her 5 month bday:)
