Wedding Party and Flowers :)

Thursday, July 30, 2009

This week at KellysKorner for "Show Us Your Life" is wedding party and flowers! All things wedding are wonderful, so I am enjoying this little series:) I had 6 bridesmaids. My maid of honor was my sister. The other 5 are all long time friends from church, school, and dance! I love bright colors and my wedding was in the summer, so I chose a bright teal for there dresses. They were tea length dresses and I probably could have found some that I liked better, but just to get everyone there dresses and have it convenient for them it was just easiest to do David's Bridal for that part. We found my flower girl dress on ebay and then just bought the matching sash to the bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal. It was a great way to have coordinating dresses but only spent $50 on the total look.

Adorable flower girl!

Maid of honor and my sister! Yes we are related, someone just tans a little better than I do:)

From the rehearsal dinner, all the groomsmen. Charlie's brother, Chris, was his best man.

The whole group!

Our florist did a wonderful job. If you need a florist for your wedding let me know (Dallas area). She is starting her own business so she is very cost efficient and does a great job. For my flowers I went with gerbera daisies. I love this flower. They are bright and cheery! But also one of the more inexpensive flowers on the market. My bouquet had white roses in the middle and then gerbera daisies surrounding it. I also had 2 or 3 butterflies mixed into it. I love butterflies and they had to be incorporated some how:) The bridesmaids had just gerbera daisies and the boys had white roses. She did several other flowers in vases for décor for the ceremony and reception. All in all both turned out exactly like I imagined!

Flower for the ceremony that we later moved into the reception to decorate the tables with.

Our florist made this cute flower head piece for my flower girl. Turned out beautiful!

Sweet Hubby

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Yesterday from the moment I woke up I was exhausted. I had stayed up late the night before cooking and then Savi had a bad dream or something and woke up at 2:30am. She went right back to sleep after some TLC from mom but it still interrupted the little sleep I was getting that night. So all day long all I did was tell Charlie how tired I was. When I came home he had a bath ready and brought me dinner. He took care of Savi for the rest of the night except for some family time and me feeding her. I went to bed at 8pm and it felt good. Thank you Charlie for being such a good listener and husband. I appreciate what you did and felt 100x better today! LOVE YOU!

Green Shorts....

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

I watched the finale of The Bachelorette last night and was just fine with her final choice. I wasn't a huge fan of anyone but Ed was I guess my first choice. Nothing wrong with Kypton, just didn't connect with him really. And I'm sorry....Reid, you had your chance to profess your love. Moving on.
Back to the point of my post….did anyone notice those green shorts rearing there ugly head again? Ed wore them a couple weeks ago and I know I saw many comments on facebook about how unusually short they were. I gotta believe they aren't even really swim shorts at all. Ed has an interesting sense of fashion I have noticed. A different color palette if you will. I think I saw a light light blue suit for a rose ceremony…hmmm. Well those green shorts came back last night, and folks it wasn't pretty. I wonder if he went back to watch this season and saw the rest of the guys' swim trunks and thought "why are all of there swim trunks so long?" Maybe Jillian can help him out with some fashion tips. That is what girlfriends are for right?:)

Best Day Ever!

Saturday, July 25, 2009

This morning Charlie got a call from the hospital saying he could have the day off because there weren't enough babies in the unit. SWEET! A day off together, this day just got way better! We decided to drive out to Charlie's parents property. They have some new land they are working on and I hadn't seen it yet. So off we went, but not without stopping for some yummy donuts!
Driving out to the property. Only about 45 minutes from our house.
Savi and daddy out on the land. She was a good little girl today!
It got kinda hot, so I cooled her off in the car. She loved all the buttons and just in general the steering wheel!

Proud property owners. They are doing lots of hard work right now.

Mommy and Savi!

They have fresh blackberry plants growing on their property. We tried some and they were really good!

Charlie fulfilling his dream of riding a lawn mower. He seriously loved it:)

Adventurous Charlie!

DONKEY! The property next door owns these cute miniature donkeys. He was sweet.

We came home and went to Walmart for groceries. After that Savi took a much needed nap and Charlie did some yard work. I am resting after a fun but long day! Small chance he might be off tomorrow too! We shall see:)

Here Comes The Bride.....

Thursday, July 23, 2009

KellysKorner is hosting "Show Us Your Wedding Dress." I am excited about this one! I loved my dress. It was a Watters & Watters dress. It was the perfect satin with just some touches of detail. The bottom had a strip of very light blue/teal with tons of beading. It was very subtle but just the right amount to add a little something to the dress. My bridesmaid dresses were teal which is one of my favorite colors, so it worked perfectly!
Shows the detail at the bottom well.

Bridal portraits:)

Simple and elegant!

Best day of my life!

Good times:)

Not my Child! Monday

Monday, July 20, 2009

I almost totally forgot to make this post! Charlie posting for Brittny again as she scrambled off to work this morning. First, for a shameless plug, my own blog has been moved from Khordaddy.com to Daddy vs Wild! (http://daddyvswild.blogspot.com). Yeah, it's a play off Man vs Wild, but my theme is still the same. Come view the world through the eyes of a stay-at-home dad!

This past weekend, Brittany had several things she wanted me to post for Not My Child, so away we go!

My child did NOT just learn to start waving, even making the high pitched 'hi!' noise we make! It's so cute, and she gets so excited when she does it!

My child did NOT also just learn the 'drop' game. She has figured she can drop just about anything to the ground. It's been a thrill for her thus far. I'm just assuming this is God's way of teaching me good ergonomics (posture).

My child did NOT start walking side to side while holding on to an object! It's crazy how fast she's advancing with her newfound movement skills. about a month and a half ago she was crawling, then she could pull herself up with ease, and now shes walking along objects!

Come join me with other Not My Child! posts at MckMama's blog, www.mycharmingkids.net!

Smarty Pants!

Sunday, July 19, 2009

Savannah is loving when we read to her these days. She will also sit by herself and just go from book to book looking at all the pages. It is so cute! Sometimes she talks and talks as if she is reading the pages. I love to see which books she goes to the most.

She is so smart, the book doesn't even have to be right side up for her to read it:)

Kimberly's Baby Shower

Monday, July 13, 2009

This weekend I hosted a baby shower at my house. I think it turned out well. I'll be honest, I love to host things. In my blood I think. My mom was always hostessing things or having ladies over. It can be stressful and a lot of work but I still enjoy it. She is having a girl and little Evie will be here very soon! I can't wait to meet her;)

Finished product!

Diaper game. Take a sharpie and have the guest write anything they want. Pick a size 3 diaper so that the mom doesn't use the diapers for awhile and when she does she will have fun stuff to read:)

I love spring/summer!

These are flowers from our chase tree out back!

Lots of love for Evie!
