We went to take Savannah's Easter/6 month pictures today. She did great and I am super excited about getting them soon. We packed up all of our stuff and came home. As I was going through the diaper bag I found this giant flower that is a prop of the photographers that Charlie accidentally put in our bag. OOPS! I will be returning that tomorrow:) Silly Charlie! The flower Charlie "stole" that I def plan to return:)

Gigantic Giveaway

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I found this through another blog friend (Praying4Daylight) and felt compelled to help and she had some cute stuff in prizes. They are a couple trying to raise money for IVF. I myself just had my first little one and she is the most precious thing in the world. It breaks my heart that there are loving couples out there that have trouble having a baby. Anyway go visit and if you feel that it is right for you to help contribute then please do. If not then just pass the word for others!

Round of APPLAUSE!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Today Savannah attempted to clap. It was so fun to watch. Charlie was doing it to praise her and then she started imitating him. It was so cute and cool to see her learn and try something new! He got a cute video of her today in one of her favorite toys, I will post it soon:)

White Chicks

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Kristin and I went to a friends wedding. It was a moroccan wedding. The food was actually not bad! They even had some french fries that were good. It was the weekend of weddings, so quite fitting to end with this on Sunday night:) Kristin and I felt like perhaps we stood out just a tad...what do you think?

"Oh big surprise, I like proposals!"

Monday, March 23, 2009

So this weekend was super busy and I am tired! I fulfilled my bridesmaid duties and enjoyed hanging out with my girlies all weekend. I did however dearly start to miss Savi and just in general feel bad that I had to leave her so many times this weekend. But luckily she had some good times with the grandparents!

Anyway, we had a great time at all the festivities. The weather turned out beautiful and I think everything was a success. Jackie is on her way to Hawaii and I am sure she will have a great time. I was sad because Charlie didn't get to join me at the wedding, but he did at least make it to the rehearsal dinner. Here are some of the many pics from the weekend.

Ps. If you enjoy "Friends" then you will understand my title:)

The weekend of weddings and no time!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Dale turned 5 yesterday. His birthday is St. Patty's day. Easy b-day to remember. I gave him some cheese to celebrate:) He has been very good with Savannah and he and Tarheels love to play. I hope he will be around for many years to come!
Dale with his favorite toy! Never leaves his side:)

If you need an Easter basket you should definitely order this cute liner from PotteryBarn Kids. I ordered the liner and then went to my local craft store and got a basket for $4 dollars. I think it turned out super cute and I am excited for Savi to use it for many years to come!
I have a busy weekend ahead of me. I feel like I have so many things to do and nowhere near enough time. Jackie's wedding is this weekend. Festivities start tomorrow night. Bachelorette party Thursday night, rehearsal Friday, and wedding stuff Saturday. Plus I have another friend who is having a reception on Sunday night. I am excited to see Jackie get married and it will be super fun, it is just hard with a 6 month old. Gotta have someone to watch her while I fulfill my bridesmaids duties and normally Charlie works the weekends. It definitely should be interesting to see how it all goes. Get ready for a big picture post to come!

Two blogs!

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Everytime I cange the font color from brown to black, Brittany comes back in and changes it back. Brown just blends in with the background to well for me. So if you see a post in black, it's me!

For the last couple months, most of the posts have been done by Brittany, because I have been working very hard on my own daddy blog, So, I am going to be a guest poster on this blog more or less from here on out.

This started out as my little project, and has slowly turned into Brittany's. All the creative touches on the site have been added by my beautiful wife!

While you can find daily updates on this blog, my blog has a weekly personal update for our family every Monday. My other posts focus on family betterment, personal growth, and parenting from the perpective of a stay at home dad. Either way, you can keep up with what is going on in our lives from either site! I recommend just simply going to both! :)

Bring on the Fruits!

Saturday, March 14, 2009

We went to the doctor yesterday and got a clean bill of health. Savi weighed in at 15.1lbs and 26 1/4 in. They always give you these laminated sheets when you go and we are supposed to circle yes or no on the things she can do. It is kinda like a developmental score sheet. I started doing it and the first question was something pretty easy that Savi does so I said yes. The next was "can they play patty cake by themselves with out help"....uh no. With in the next 3-4 questions I had 3 no's which is when you stop. I barely got thru the first column. I gave it to Charlie to look at while I went to weigh her with the nurse. I was nervous, normally we get much farther when we have filled those out. I came back in and Charlie said don't worry, they gave us the 9 month sheet. WHEW! With the 6 month sheet she is doing just fine. Better than fine, the doctor said she is doing really well for age and even a little ahead! YEAH! We got the ok to start adding fruits, so Charlie and I went to Walmart and bought all kinds of yummy fruits and more vegetables. We are excited to add some new things!

Squeaky Clean

Sunday, March 08, 2009

The weekend is almost over:( So sad! It has been good though. Friday night Charlie and I went to Target and Taco Bell. Mmmm, it has been awhile since we had that! They have a "healthier" menu so Charlie is ok to go there...thank god! Saturday Dale got a haircut and I hung out with my mom a little and then I went to work. Some girls that I used to babysit for when they were 6 were having a Mitzvah. SCARY! They looked so big. It hit home that I will have a girl that will grow up before my eyes and I won't know where the time went. Grandma gave Savi a bath when she watched her for me and grabbed this adorable picture. It is a digital scrapbook page saved as a jpg, so that would be why there is writing and stuff on it. I felt like baking this weekend so I took a cookie pack and instead of making lots of cookies I made one giant cookie and decorated it for Charlie. So yummy! Hope you had a good weekend!

Uplifted and Crushed....

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

So does this picture not just make you want to smile! I love this little cutie so much. I made these flower head bands for her last night. Just bought some plain head bands off ebay and then went to Hobby Lobby and bought flowers and barrettes. I took the flower stems off and got a flat bottom and then glued them to the barrette. I have all kinds of colors to play with!

So I am very crushed with this whole bachelor thing. I wanted Melissa so bad. I just think he didn't give Melissa a fair chance at all. They get to see each other very little and only have phone conversations until the airing of the show. How much can go right??? He should have waited until he could at least have somewhat of a normal relationship to decide if she really wasn't the one. I totally read on some one's facebook that Molly is pregnant. Wouldn't that be crazy! Can Stephanie please be the next Bachlorette. She is ADORABLE and deserves a happy ending. I guess I will settle for Jillian. Worst part: I just finished watching the 2nd Final Rose show and Molly and Jason do look happy for now. Guess we will have to wait and see if they actually get married! Either way I love the show and will always watch:) Patiently waiting for May 15th!

Sleeping Away

Monday, March 02, 2009

That's right, precious little Savannah fell asleep right by my side, and is on her second nap in two hours! She slept all night last night from 7pm to 6am, for 11 hours total, so I am a little surprised she zonked out again.

The last couple days have been pretty rough sleep-wise. Savannah has been bale roll back to front for awhile, but now can roll front to back. This newfound ability has left her turning onto her side and stomach while she sleeps. She even rolls right over the wedges we have to preent such actions!

Of course, our concern is SIDS, and as fairly new parents, we still are a little nervos about letting her sleep on her stomach.

I know the first night she did it I was up pretty much all night. Weariness and exhaustion set in the next day, and the next night I ended up bringing her into our bed. I know, I know, that's even worse and more dangerous. Don't fret too much, because the very next night Brittany and I decided to see how it would go leaving her in her crib, after reading that once babies can roll every which way, SIDS risks are lowered. Savannah did fine.

My heart skipped a beat when I woke up this morning at 6am to see her in the monitor sleeping on her stomach. Luckily, it was also feeding time, so I had an excuse to go get her. SHe was totally okay, ate, and went back to sleep.

I guess the more this becomes a part of our life, the less worried we will be, but it won't go away completely. We will always be leary of SIDS.

An another note, there is a great blog carnival going on at MckMama's blog, My Charming Kids. It is Not Me! Monday, and here are my not me's. Well, here are some more. You can read more of my not me's on my other blog, Today, I am not procrastinating and avoiding my next workout. Not that it is hard, it's just that I'm tired as hell. Don't worry though, I WILL do it ;) I am not changing the text color of this blog to black because the original brown was too hard to see. And I am not openly hoping, or shouting out loud, that I want warm weather to get here quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Sunday, March 01, 2009

Thursday was my birthday! My mom came over to our house to watch Savi and Charlie picked me up from dance so that we could go to The Melting Pot. Uhhh so good! We were stuffed when we left there. We came home and when I walked in I was scared/surprised by MARISSA! She made it home for my birthday after all. I was so glad. I didn't think she was going to be able to come home so it was definitely a shock. It totally made my day! We spent a lot of the weekend shopping and having birthday family fun! Charlie and I will be going shopping later for my gift from him but I got some money, some digital scrap booking software and some accessories for my car. Marissa painted me a plate with a butterfly on it. I enjoyed my birthday very much and can't wait to do some shopping with Charlie. Savannah if 5 1/2 months old already! She got some new toys this weekend that she seems to be enjoying. She has started sitting up really well now. We are still doing our vegetables, it was carrots this week. It can go on the good list:) She also loves to say na na na na. Charlie is just itching for it to turn into da da da. We will see. I did some projects this weekend. Marissa found this cute sign while we were out shopping that was perfect for Savi's room. I love it, it says "Pink isn't just a color, it is an attitude." It matches all her colors perfectly. I also have been meaning for some time to do this family photo wall. I bought the frames and put them all together. Then added my title for the wall and hung the frames. I plan to add many more to it but I love it so far! Does anyone else have a wall dedicated to photos? I think in 20 years it will really tell a story!
