Sweet 16

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I am a big college basketball fan, but not so much this year since my NCAA championship team from last year didn't make it this year:( UNC, that is. The sweet 16 that I am referring to is 16 weeks in my pregnancy has passed. For the most part I am well and not to sick. It definitely has lingered longer this time than it did with Savannah, but I am better! Praise the Lord!

This past weekend, Savannah and I visited daddy at his work. He works at a hospital in the NICU. One of his friends in L&D offered to give me a quick sonogram and I was so excited. It is always fun to get a glimpse of your baby:) I got to see him (that is what the nurse thought also) for almost 25 minutes. It was so awesome! Savi sat on the bed with me for a bit and was so good. We ate lunch with Charlie and went on home. Here are some of the sonogram pics!

This is a butt shot. 2 legs on each side (over in the left corner) and something in the middle:)

I'm excited for this weekend. Savi is big enough where Easter should be a bit more fun this year! This was her last year this time....so little:)
I am taking her to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt and my sister is going to come with us. I will attempt to decorate Easter eggs with her! Charlie and I are doing a special hunt at the house and probably have the Easter bunny come early with her basket so he can see her get all her goodies on Friday. Charlie has to work Sunday. All in all though I'm super excited!

Tea For Two

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Savannah often goes into her play room and runs straight to her table. She sets her teapot up and her cup and we proceed to have a teaparty. I LOVE IT!

We are still working on our manners:) "no pouring tea while your foot is on the table"
Drink up....yummy!

Bright and Sunny!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Last weekend was an absolutely gorgeous weekend! Saturday we took our new wagon for a spin and Savannah loved it! I loved pulling her around and just spending time outside! Then Sunday we went over to see grandma and grandpa and spent more time outside on her push car toy.
Later we had a photographer come to the house. A photographer that I know was looking for a baby/toddler around Savi's age for some live bunny photos. I of course offered up Savannah for a free photo shoot. She also wanted to do some maternity photos that I get to have done over the course of my pregnancy. My first session is tonight!

After all that fun, someone was tired!

Went to the doctor this morning for my monthly appointment. All was well and we found the heartbeat nice and quick. Gained 2 pounds. And next visit is our sono to confirm the sex. I may or may not get to take a sneak peak at hubby's work in a couple weeks thanks to a sweet offer from an L&D nurse. We will see though.

Allot of fun stuff is coming up. Here is my list of things to look forward too!
*Easter egg hunts with Savannah! She is going to be so cute this year with those bright eggs!
*My sister comes home for Easter.
*Sonograms to see my little baby:)
*Spring weather....better be here in full swing soon!
*Charlie and I have a little family vacation planned the first weekend of June. Can't wait!

Resale

Friday, March 12, 2010

Last Sunday I went to this HUGE resale for kids that this group puts on called Divine Consign. They do it out of the Plano Recreation Center and people from all over get to consign everything you could ever need for kids. You get to keep way more money than some of the normal resale stores and it is a one stop shop. I spent about $75 and got so much for Savannah. I was on a mission for an outdoor toy or a wagon for Savi. I got BOTH! My wagon was only $9.50 and then I also got a little tykes outdoor play area for $22! I also got of couple new toys for her (including this super cute baby stroller that she loves), an art table with a stool, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 outfits, and 2 sets of pajamas. I walked away a happy camper:)

She puts her baby cabbage patch doll in it and pushes her around. I love it! She leans around and says "hi baby" and then proceeds to push her.

Delivery or Pick Up

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I have had several cravings lately. I feel like I have had more this time than I did with my first pregnancy. Lately I'm all about pizza. Just some plain cheese pizza. And even when I make it or order some, I want more later. Basically I want all foods that are bad for me. I try to at least eat one full piece of fruit a day so I don't feel like an awful person. I have been feeling better for the most part lately. Sometimes at night after I eat I feel a little blah and about once a week now I get sick. But that is a vast improvement. So I'm thankful. Today I am 13 weeks and 5 days. I'm officially in my 2nd trimester!

We also went to see the perinatologist a week ago and all things look good. The doctor also speculated that he thinks we are having a boy:) We will get another sonogram in about 5 weeks to determine for sure. I was prepared either way to have either sex. But when I was told it was a boy, the emotions caught me off guard. I just want my little Savi to for sure have a playmate and get along with her sibling. I was always close to my sister growing up and Charlie had only brothers growing up. Neither of us know what it is like to have a sibling of the opposite sex. I'm pretty excited to get to experience the best of both worlds....sports games and dance recitals:) The whole thing overwhelmed me that day. I was an emotional freak! I don't have any clothes for a boy and just all the new things that I don't know about a boy! Then I get emotional about how Savi will probably be my special only girl. (Charlie and I aren't 100% we are done having children, but it will definitely be awhile if not ever if we have a third) We won't know for sure what it is till next month, but if it is a boy then I am getting pretty excited about some nursery themes and how maybe Savi will have a little brother that can protect her later in life:)

Here are some photos lately. I need to scan the newest sono pics too. I will do that soon!

The above is at 11 weeks
Both above and below were taken today. Almost 14 weeks. Hello baby bump:)

She Had A Good Point...

Thursday, March 04, 2010

Do you watch The Bachelor? I do! I can’t help myself. I’m not sure how real I think it is, but I’m always hoping for a good happy ending couple because then I know ABC will pay for their wedding. And I’m all about watching a 2 hour special on an extravagant wedding:) Not going to lie!

I liked Jake way back before his season started. I mean he’s from Dallas, so that immediately puts him higher in my book. The more I watched his season, there was something I liked less and less about him. Not sure what, but just not my favorite anymore. Anyway, what I did enjoy about his final episode (did not enjoy his final choice) was his mother. She had a point and I agree. She seemed sweet and the mother to 3 good well raised boys. She said she wanted to make sure whoever marries her son can be friends with the other daughter-in-laws that she has. She feels that once her and her husband are gone, sometimes it is the women that are the glue that hold the family together. Don’t get me wrong, not all men are bad at this but lets face it…..the women tend to be more into the planning and the details. I think once the parents do pass on it is important to keep traditions going and make sure we have lots of family gatherings. My sister and I are super close. Once my parents pass away, we will have no problems with family gatherings. Not to mention we have a VERY small family. One aunt and a couple cousins, and that concludes the immediate family. Whoever she marries will be close to our family, and her kids and my kids will be close as both of us agree we want them to get to spend lots of time together as we didn’t get to spend as much time as we wished with our cousins. So basically no problem there!

Charlie is one of 3 brothers. He is the oldest. He also has a much larger family that is a bit more spread out. Right now he is the only one married. I truly hope that when both of his brothers get married, I can be really good friends with their wives. I know that as life presses on you only tend to keep a couple of really good best friends in your life, and then you have your family. So family is pretty important to me. And when his parents to pass on, I hope that my kids can love and be close to their uncles and future aunts. I think that would greatly increase if I were close with them too. I try hard right now as they are dating and have girlfriends, but it can be hard for me. Definitely a worry for the future, but it is close to my heart.
