Charlie and I had a great Christmas! We have such great families:) We went to Christmas Eve service at Prestonwood with my family and then over to Charlie's parents house to do Christmas. (Charlie had to work Christmas day) I got this really cool Santa while we were in Eureka Springs that sits in front of the fireplace and plays music. I got it a little early so I could enjoy it but that was my cool gift from Charlie's parents. Bryan gave me a butterfly shirt (can't go wrong with me and butterflies:)) and Chris gave me some pink slippers!
Savannah got a cabbage patch doll and some other cute toys she loved! Charlie got some tools, clothes, beard trimmer, madden 09 and the most useful of all gift cards...WALMART! We ate a yummy dinner and then went to go do Christmas at our house as a family. It was fun, we set up a fire and laid out our quilt and began with Savannah's gift before she fell asleep on us:) Charlie gave me a beautiful cross necklace, Grey's Anatomy, a watch, and some cute work clothes! I got Charlie a ipod shuffle, clothes, movies, xbox game, and a food trivia game:)
Christmas day I went to my parents for the day since Charlie had to work:( Savannah got a different newborn cabbage patch doll (grandmothers think alike:)), her first carolina outfit, and a cute penguin from aunt missy. I got some coach ballet flats, a portable dvd player, some clothes, and a new phone! We lounged for the rest of the day and then had some Christmas ham. Charlie came by after work and opened his gifts from my parents. He got a deep fryer and lots of spices/cooking stuff. My parents also got Charlie and I a gift that I had to wait to open till he got there. It was a roomba, which is one of those cool vacuum robot things. My mom has one (Rosie) and loves it. I haven't decided what to name our yet!
Tuesday, December 22nd Charlie and I went with Mike and Cathy to ICE at the Gaylord. We had a lot of fun. It is decorated so beautifully there. We ate some dinner, exchanged gifts, then went and stood in a lovely line to see ICE. We have a much better game plan for next year:) Either way it was fun. Cathy and I don't get to see each other as much as I would like so I had no problem waiting in line with her! In the future when she will enjoy it we will definitely bring Savannah:)
Dancing! Completely ignore me in this one, I don't exist! My, what a good dancer our little Savi is! Hah, anyways, here's a video of our dancing prodigy.
We finally took Savannah to see Santa! Such a painless experience when you go in the middle of the day. We walked up, took the picture and left. Prob 10 minutes at the most. No crying either!
He is all mine and I am so lucky! So far I have had a great day thanks to 2 things. My husband and the weather:) The weather is just because I like cloudy days. That may sound weird but I don't know what it is about them but I love cloudy days. It just keeps me kind of mellow and on my drive to and from work I feel calmer. And of course when you are at home on cloudy/rainy days it is great to just snuggle and be warm.
Now for my wonderful husband. This morning he made me breakfast, which mind you meant he got up around 6:30am on a day where he could easily go back to sleep while I watch Savannah in the mornings. Then as I got up and did all my usual stuff to get out of the house I kept finding little heart notes. So far I have found 5. He put them in my car, the freezer, on my keys, etc. I love stuff like that and he knows it. I am lucky to have him and Savannah in my life.
Last week after Thanksgiving we went to take a quick family pic for our Christmas cards. After only a 20 minute photo shoot we got it! I am going to a Christmas card addressing party this Sunday and then they will be out in the mail! Sometime this week we will visit Santa and then we will also have some proffesional shots taken of Savannah.
Well total I think Charlie and I had 4 Thanksgiving dinners in the last couple weeks. Good thing the food is always so good. Charlie and I both worked on Thanksgiving. I didn't work to long and then my family came and joined me at the Marriott for brunch. We went to Charlie's house later that night for some more food:) I got up the next day at 4am to do some shopping. I got some good deals and pretty much finished our Christmas shopping!
Savannah is doing so well. She tries to sit up all the time. We got our family Christmas picture done and plan to take her next week to see Santa. Hopefully it will be a pleasant experience:)
Our little Turkey!
Charlie and I were blessed enough to have a mini vacation. We went to Eureka Springs, AR. Charlie has been going for years with his family. I have been once before with them, but this was Savannah's first time of many. We stay in a cabin and just have good family time. Lots of food and fires. It is very relaxing and beautiful there. Savannah did amazing for the whole trip. The car ride was basically a breeze and she just laughed and had a good time with everyone. Charlie and I got to spend some time together to which is always nice! Here are some of the pictures.
Savannah had her 2 month check up yesterday, and she's a healthy, growing girl! She weighs 11 pounds now, and measured 22.5 inches long! She had her first 4 shots, and while it was clearly a painful ordeal for her, it was just as painful on Brittany and I, if not more. So hard to see our baby in pain. So, other than that, everything is great! Here's a little video of Savannah trying to sit up after her doctor visit and a nap:
