Life is busy. Sometimes I'm caught up and sometimes I'm NOT! Last week I went back to work. Except Tuesday afternoon I went home sick. Ended up in the ER Wednesday night for stomach pains, nausea, and all kinds of fun stuff. I was dehydrated and hyperventerlating. So not fun. So I had 6 weeks while on leave to get sick, and I pick the week I went back to work. Super! They gave me some liquids, demerol for my stomach, and zofran for the nausea. On top of all that, the night I went to the ER our AC went out. Luckily we were able to stay with my friend and Savannah went to Mims house for a couple days. I'm finally all better...but what a week!
Halloween post coming:)
Last week we took the kids to a pumpkin patch at a farm. Savannah was all over the place as usual but we managed a few pictures. The weather was beautiful and they had some antique vendors out there. I found a beautiful rocking chair for only $30. We took the glider out for the nursery. After moving the crib out of her room and her tiny bed, there is alot of extra space in her room. We would maybe put her play kitchen in there, but that right now isn't an option. We figure all she will do is play with it instead of sleep in her big girl bed:) So now she will have a pretty rocking chair for me to read stories to her.
Savannah spent her first night in her big girl bed 2 nights ago! She did so great! Literally we put her in it, read some books, sang our song, and left the room. She didn't get out of bed and was asleep in 15 minutes. Now the second night she did almost just as well but she played with her lamp for a bit and fell asleep with it on. Naps are a bit more difficult of course as her room isn't as dark and she isn't as tired. But progress is being made:) I think part of our success is that her bed has been in her room for almost 6 months now. She has been able to play on it and just get used to it without having to use it. I can't believe she is such a big girl!
Mostly a newborn shoot, but we did of course get some family photos:) They turned out great! Now to work on his announcement!
We went out to Charlie's parents property to visit with his aunt and grandparents that were in town. They of course wanted to see the kids and we had a great day there. Savi loves to run around and play outside! Charlie and her just have such a good time when they are together out there!
On Thursday we took Savannah to the Texas State Fair. I LOVE the fair. I seriously haven't missed a year in probably 10 or more years. My parents always took me and my sister and then after I graduated, I still went with friends or family. Baby Charlie had a great time with a dance mom friend of mine that offered to watch him.
The weather was beautiful and Savannah had a great time. We first did this little area called "Little Hands on the Farm." They have all this fake food, gardening, and animals to teach the kids about growing your food, picking it, and then feeding the animals. It was really cute!
Next we went to the petting zoo area. She was much more timid this year than last:) But she did feed some goats.
We of course shared a corn dog! Can't go to the fair without one of those. Then we went into the Food and Fiber building where there was food samples galore:) We were stuffed! Next we went to watch the dog show. Charlie really enjoys watching this and I think Savi had fun watching them catch the frisbees and diving into the water.
Charlie has been researching our next car alot and was definitely all about the auto show this year. We headed over there to let him check out some of his top choices. Savannah is very into playing and pressing the buttons in the cars right now. So she LOVED this!
We finished out with playing in the water and letting Savannah ride her FIRST fair ride with mommy:)
All in all such a great day! Next year both kids can come and so will begin our family tradition of going to the fair!
