Fall Forward Repeat:)

Thursday, October 22, 2009

This week at KellysKorner we are showing fall decorations. I already did a small post about this but the hubby took some way better pictures today so I decided to do another. Never enough fall decor right?

This is our dining room table. I am kinda dying to host Thanksgiving or something of the sort so I can make soup and put them in mini pumpkins. How cute would that be! I saw it at Williams Sonoma and now I am obsessed!

Charlie's grandmother gave me this last year and you can change out the little plates for each holiday. I need to work on getting more plates for each occasion, but I love it!

Ridiculous!

Sunday, October 18, 2009

I have been searching for weeks for a daybed comforter or quilt that is fun and bright colors and doesn't look like I stole it from my grandmothers house. Do you know how ridiculously hard this has been??!! Mind you...I also don't want to spend a small fortune. The daybed is in our play room and we are trying to get a fun color/theme and then will decorate the room accordingly from there. It has a trundle and will be where Savi will have many a sleepovers I hope:) If you know of a good place or any suggestions...I will be forever grateful!

Also below is the stage that Savi is going through. Mommy is exhausted trying to keep a bow in:) Luckily she leaves rubber bands alone. We are going to build off of that for now:)

Show Us Your Life - Glitz and Glam!

Thursday, October 15, 2009

At Kelly's Korner this week, everyone is supposed to show the stuff they make. As it so happens, I make Swarovski crystal monogram cake toppers! I take many different sizes of Swarovski crystals and customize letters to how people want them for wedding cakes, birthday cakes, etc. I am working on expanding what I do and currently had my friend Kimberly approach me and ask if she could work on marketing/PR. UH yes please:) I have my stuff showcased in 2 bakeries so far and can't wait to see where this goes!

Here is the link to my site: http://www.glitzandglamletters.com/

Here are a couple photos of what I can make!

Corndogs and Pancakes!

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Last week I took a day off and we took Savi to the fair for the first time. She loved it and we had a great family day! We ate lots of fair food and did our usual stuff. Savi still seemed a little young for fair rides but she definitely enjoyed the petting zoo! She also had some yummy first tastes of fair food!

We just got to the fair...so happy!

Family Pic:)

He looks mad at me:)

Savi looking at the animals!

Scrunchy face:)

Thinking about being brave and petting the cow. She didn't:)

Our first fair corndog!

Daddy letting her play in the fountains.

Love me some caramel apples!

Savi just likes the caramel! Cut out the fruit and go for the good stuff...lol!

Later that weekend my Aunt Becky came to visit! My mom and her had a great time. She works part time for Williams Sonoma and I was able to get this little gadget called a pancake pen. You put your batter inside it and then it comes out thin/little enough that you can draw and fill cookie cutters up to make shapes. I had a blast playing with it and making some Halloween themed pancakes! I foresee a mommy/daughter tradition of making holiday pancakes:)

The awesome pancake pen!

GO TEAM!

Friday, October 09, 2009

This week at KellysKorner we are showing our team spirit!

Ok so I am not a huge sports fan but I do enjoy the UNC Tarheels. My dad grew up in Winston Salem and is a HUGE fan. He went to the University of North Carolina and graduated in 1972. Ever since my sister and I were teeny tiny we were taught to be tarheel fans! Young or old, they love them some good team spirit! They are extremely well known for there team spirit and legacy as a team in general. Michael Jordan used to wear his UNC basketball shorts underneath his Bulls shorts every game because they were lucky! Last year they were the NCAA champs! And we were super proud! Now I don't really loooovvvve to watch football a great amount but hubby loves it! So I try to support and enjoy the fall weather by cozying up next to him to watch a game. But I definitely enjoy it more when my Dallas Cowboys play! I can actually get into it and root for my home team. If they aren't playing it is TOUGH!

Busy or Relaxing?

Sunday, October 04, 2009

This weekend was kinda crazy and kinda relaxing. Hard to tell how I feel about it;) Friday night I went out for a quick sec after work with coworkers to say goodbye to a coworker. It was fun to do that for just a bit. I went home and played with Savi and put my sweet girl to sleep. Saturday, we woke up and Savi had a pretty runny nose. She was in good spirits but still was feeling a little yuck. We squeezed in a couple errands and ended the day together at home. I had such a great day with her. Sunday, I worked this bridal show for my work called Unveiled. It was supposed to be a different experience than just your average bridal show. It was way better than the ones I have been to before, so I think they accomplished that. We had a booth and the expo was amazing. It was put on by "The Wedding Guys" and they did a great job! So many vendors and great booths. Here are some pics of our booth and the expo.

Some Marriott goodies:)

Cake from Fancy Cakes by Lauren and Frosted Art! (Both Food Network challengers)

Love peacocks!

Bridal fashion show

I was happy to relax though once I got home. My feet hurt after that for sure! My mom watched Savi for me while I was at this expo and I think they had a good day! Thanks mom for watching her! Savi loves her grandma:) Savi and I spent some more time together and off to bed she went! Monday here I come!

Update Monday Morn!

In the spirit of Not Me! Monday at Mckmama's blog, here are my not mes:

I did not catch my husband climbing into our daughter's crib to help her fall asleep last night as her runny nose woke her up at 230am. Maybe it's time for a bed with rails so daddy can lay down with his daughter when need be :)

I did not install all the rest of our baby gates this weekend since Savi is up and running all over the place!

And finally, I did not have a great weekend with my daughter! She's getting so big!
