Today Savannah attempted to clap. It was so fun to watch. Charlie was doing it to praise her and then she started imitating him. It was so cute and cool to see her learn and try something new! He got a cute video of her today in one of her favorite toys, I will post it soon:)
Kristin and I went to a friends wedding. It was a moroccan wedding. The food was actually not bad! They even had some french fries that were good. It was the weekend of weddings, so quite fitting to end with this on Sunday night:) Kristin and I felt like perhaps we stood out just a tad...what do you think?
So this weekend was super busy and I am tired! I fulfilled my bridesmaid duties and enjoyed hanging out with my girlies all weekend. I did however dearly start to miss Savi and just in general feel bad that I had to leave her so many times this weekend. But luckily she had some good times with the grandparents!

Ps. If you enjoy "Friends" then you will understand my title:)
Dale turned 5 yesterday. His birthday is St. Patty's day. Easy b-day to remember. I gave him some cheese to celebrate:) He has been very good with Savannah and he and Tarheels love to play. I hope he will be around for many years to come! Dale with his favorite toy! Never leaves his side:)
Everytime I cange the font color from brown to black, Brittany comes back in and changes it back. Brown just blends in with the background to well for me. So if you see a post in black, it's me!
For the last couple months, most of the posts have been done by Brittany, because I have been working very hard on my own daddy blog, Khordaddy.com. So, I am going to be a guest poster on this blog more or less from here on out.
This started out as my little project, and has slowly turned into Brittany's. All the creative touches on the site have been added by my beautiful wife!
While you can find daily updates on this blog, my blog has a weekly personal update for our family every Monday. My other posts focus on family betterment, personal growth, and parenting from the perpective of a stay at home dad. Either way, you can keep up with what is going on in our lives from either site! I recommend just simply going to both! :)
We went to the doctor yesterday and got a clean bill of health. Savi weighed in at 15.1lbs and 26 1/4 in. They always give you these laminated sheets when you go and we are supposed to circle yes or no on the things she can do. It is kinda like a developmental score sheet. I started doing it and the first question was something pretty easy that Savi does so I said yes. The next was "can they play patty cake by themselves with out help"....uh no. With in the next 3-4 questions I had 3 no's which is when you stop. I barely got thru the first column. I gave it to Charlie to look at while I went to weigh her with the nurse. I was nervous, normally we get much farther when we have filled those out. I came back in and Charlie said don't worry, they gave us the 9 month sheet. WHEW! With the 6 month sheet she is doing just fine. Better than fine, the doctor said she is doing really well for age and even a little ahead! YEAH! We got the ok to start adding fruits, so Charlie and I went to Walmart and bought all kinds of yummy fruits and more vegetables. We are excited to add some new things!
Savi is half way to her first birthday. She turned 6 months yesterday. She is adorable, happy, and healthy. Longer post tomorrow after her doctor appointment.
6 months with the best toy ever....tissue paper:)
The weekend is almost over:( So sad! It has been good though. Friday night Charlie and I went to Target and Taco Bell. Mmmm, it has been awhile since we had that! They have a "healthier" menu so Charlie is ok to go there...thank god! Saturday Dale got a haircut and I hung out with my mom a little and then I went to work. Some girls that I used to babysit for when they were 6 were having a Mitzvah. SCARY! They looked so big. It hit home that I will have a girl that will grow up before my eyes and I won't know where the time went. Grandma gave Savi a bath when she watched her for me and grabbed this adorable picture. It is a digital scrapbook page saved as a jpg, so that would be why there is writing and stuff on it. I felt like baking this weekend so I took a cookie pack and instead of making lots of cookies I made one giant cookie and decorated it for Charlie. So yummy! Hope you had a good weekend!
So does this picture not just make you want to smile! I love this little cutie so much. I made these flower head bands for her last night. Just bought some plain head bands off ebay and then went to Hobby Lobby and bought flowers and barrettes. I took the flower stems off and got a flat bottom and then glued them to the barrette. I have all kinds of colors to play with!
That's right, precious little Savannah fell asleep right by my side, and is on her second nap in two hours! She slept all night last night from 7pm to 6am, for 11 hours total, so I am a little surprised she zonked out again.
The last couple days have been pretty rough sleep-wise. Savannah has been bale roll back to front for awhile, but now can roll front to back. This newfound ability has left her turning onto her side and stomach while she sleeps. She even rolls right over the wedges we have to preent such actions!
Of course, our concern is SIDS, and as fairly new parents, we still are a little nervos about letting her sleep on her stomach.
I know the first night she did it I was up pretty much all night. Weariness and exhaustion set in the next day, and the next night I ended up bringing her into our bed. I know, I know, that's even worse and more dangerous. Don't fret too much, because the very next night Brittany and I decided to see how it would go leaving her in her crib, after reading that once babies can roll every which way, SIDS risks are lowered. Savannah did fine.
My heart skipped a beat when I woke up this morning at 6am to see her in the monitor sleeping on her stomach. Luckily, it was also feeding time, so I had an excuse to go get her. SHe was totally okay, ate, and went back to sleep.
I guess the more this becomes a part of our life, the less worried we will be, but it won't go away completely. We will always be leary of SIDS.
An another note, there is a great blog carnival going on at MckMama's blog, My Charming Kids. It is Not Me! Monday, and here are my not me's. Well, here are some more. You can read more of my not me's on my other blog, Khordaddy.com. Today, I am not procrastinating and avoiding my next workout. Not that it is hard, it's just that I'm tired as hell. Don't worry though, I WILL do it ;) I am not changing the text color of this blog to black because the original brown was too hard to see. And I am not openly hoping, or shouting out loud, that I want warm weather to get here quick, fast, and in a hurry.
