Thursday was my birthday! My mom came over to our house to watch Savi and Charlie picked me up from dance so that we could go to The Melting Pot. Uhhh so good! We were stuffed when we left there. We came home and when I walked in I was scared/surprised by MARISSA! She made it home for my birthday after all. I was so glad. I didn't think she was going to be able to come home so it was definitely a shock. It totally made my day! We spent a lot of the weekend shopping and having birthday family fun! Charlie and I will be going shopping later for my gift from him but I got some money, some digital scrap booking software and some accessories for my car. Marissa painted me a plate with a butterfly on it. I enjoyed my birthday very much and can't wait to do some shopping with Charlie.
Savannah if 5 1/2 months old already! She got some new toys this weekend that she seems to be enjoying. She has started sitting up really well now. We are still doing our vegetables, it was carrots this week. It can go on the good list:) She also loves to say na na na na. Charlie is just itching for it to turn into da da da. We will see.
I did some projects this weekend. Marissa found this cute sign while we were out shopping that was perfect for Savi's room. I love it, it says "Pink isn't just a color, it is an attitude." It matches all her colors perfectly. I also have been meaning for some time to do this family photo wall. I bought the frames and put them all together. Then added my title for the wall and hung the frames. I plan to add many more to it but I love it so far! Does anyone else have a wall dedicated to photos? I think in 20 years it will really tell a story!

1) Did you have a traditional Proposal? Pretty much. We were laying down and Charlie asked me to get up and turn the lights on and help him look for his contact that he just lost. He "suddenly" found it and then brought the ring out that he had hidden in the other hand and asked me to marry him. I was super happy and surprised!

Season of all! That is what Chris always says on the Bachlor/Bachlorette. But man do I love that show. I just know it is going to be Melissa! They showed a scene at the very beginning of the season that showed a girl with very dark hair getting proposed to. So it better be her! But what is with the privacy of the show comment from Chris?? I am dying to know what that means! Charlie hates the show. Watching the girls cry is really the only thing that bothers him. (Sorry hon, but it's the truth) But that is ok, that makes him sweet and sensitive, so I can deal with having to watch it alone. There was a time where he used to watch it with me and I loved it. But no more:( Needless to say I am really looking forward to next Monday!
Well at about 4 months we started Savi on rice cereal. She did real well with it and has gotten better and better at learning how to swallow. Then at 5 months we got the ok from the pediatrician to start just vegetables. We did sweet potatoes on Valentine's Day for the first time and she gobbled them up. It is fun to feed her, and she seems to like it so far. Next week we will do carrots. But for now she can say her first real food was sweet potatoes! Here are some delightful pictures of it all over her:)

All Done:)
Family Valentine Pic:)
Happy Little Valentine:) It's Monday again, a fresh start to the week. Brittany and I spent a wonderful Valentine's together, and had a great weekend. I really enjoyed being off this weekend (thanks Chelsea!), and loved spending time with my family. We went furniture shopping, and came home empty handed. Nothing on sale that we absolutely loved. But we had success at Babies R Us and got Savannah some new clothes! On Sunday we went and saw He's Just Not That Into You. I actually liked it for the most part. Very similar to Love Actually, so if you enjoyed that, you'll enjoy this one.
Brittany, I know you're probably reading this at work, so I just want to tell everyone how wonderful a wife and mommy you are, and I love you so very much!
I have a new site up and running. Khordaddy's Dad and Husband Survival Guide. You can see links in the about me area, and at the top of our blog as well. I have two new articles up, so go ahead and check them out!
Men and Household Chores
How to Give Up Caffeine
Today is also "Not Me!" Monday. This is a collection of blogs, or a blog carnival if you will, on the blog of MckMama. There are some very interesting blogs there! Today, I have NOT eaten lunch yet, and I have NOT gotten around to cleaning our bathrooms. I have, however, managed to do two loads of laundry thus far, work out, and do some dishes. Not a bad trade off, so I will take it. Anyways, the link below will take you straight to "Not Me!" Mondays.
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
We are having a great morning and I am actually able to get on the computer and post because Charlie is HOME! We have plans to go out and look at some furniture and paint. Nothing romantic, but we never get to do that stuff anymore. Ahh the joy of kids:)(totally worth it though) Charlie was very sweet and sent me flowers at work and got me some yummy candy. Perfect gifts. I gave him a willow tree figurine of "new dad" and Savi and I went and took Valentine's pictures that we had framed for daddy. I will post those later once I get them scanned in. I hope everyone has a great v-day!

So below is one handsome man if I do say so myself. I am so excited to spend the weekend with him for Valentine's Day! We don't get many weekends together and better yet it is Valentine's weekend. We don't really have any huge plans, but just to be together sounds good to me.
I don't know how in depth he wants me to go into this but he has been doing something consistently for about 5-6 weeks now and I am pretty proud of him. He has been perservering and the results are awesome. I am proud of ya hon!
I am finally back in the groove of things. Being sick sucked! It really knocked me on my butt. I am so glad to be better. Nothing to new, just living the life with a almost 5 month old baby:) We went to dinner with Heather and Chris at Chilis. We haven't seen them in awhile so that was fun. Savannah is doing great. She is eating her rice cereal everyday better and better. Soon we get to move to vegetables. I am excited for valentine's day because Charlie will be off. We can spend a great Saturday together! Here is Savi 1 week shy of her 5 month bday:)
This week has been a tough one. Brittany fell sick late Monday night with all the symptoms of a horrible, nasty flu. She had a temperature as high as 103.0 degrees and has been achy with a sore throat and lots of drainage. Sounds fun, huh? Well, add on top of that she is still trying to breastfeed and pump, and you have one sick, tired mommy! Our pedi says it's okay to still breastfeed with a fever, for those of you that might be curious as to why she's still attempting this, it is so that Savannah gets all the antibodies Brittany is making while she is sick. Helps boost our little girl's immune system. Happy to report Savannah has not gotten sick thus far! Nor have I, for that matter. Anyways, Brittany just started feeling better last night, though she is still coughing and has alot of drainage. Probably won't be until next week sometime that she completely kicks this nastiness.
I, on the other hand, have found out what it truly means to be a dad and husband in charge of just about everything. Taking care of a sick wife and still giving complete care to Savannah has pushed me to exhaustion! Don't get me wrong, I love taking care of my girls, but the lack of sleep and amount of work involved day in and day out gives me a new appreciation for all the parents who go through bouts like this. The hardest part is keeping Savannah away from Brittany as much as possible, all the while trying to give Brittany the care she needs. It is definitely a delicate balancing act.
So, let's hope Brittany gets better soon, and whatever she has/had stays away from Savannah! Speaking of our little girl, she is doing a couple new things. It's always something new every week. Man, even something new every couple days now it seems! She is talking up a storm making so many new sounds. I've heard her say 'buh', 'mah', 'aloo', 'loooah', 'aye' amongst so many other combinations of sounds. She really is practicing her talking! Nothing comes out as words of course, and anything she says that we would deem coherent is definitely by accident. But it won't be long before she starts making sense of all those sounds! She has also found out the sucking in her lower lip is quite amusing. She'll suck on it for a bit, spit it out, then suck it right back in. And finally, she has discovered the joy of taking baths with mommy! It has only been a couple baths so far (because we normally give her a bath in her little tub), but she loves standing in the water with mommy holding her and splashing around with her hands. She smiles and laughs the whole time!
I will try to get some more pics up soon, I promise. This week has been tough, so maybe next week I'll have some new ones!
